This book looked at cataclysmic event and turned into a rebirth. I was looking for something new and was sent this book to check out. This book, while targeted for YA, had enough to keep me intrigued and going back to pick it up when I had a few spare minutes.
Sol, a princess with the ability to see bits of the future, is betrothed to Prince Robin of the neighboring kingdom. Both of them, and their people, have to be careful not to be taken by the Nox people. The stressful part? They all live on a volcanic island that decides to “wake up” and send its rumblings of impending doom and destruction.
Character and world building had a great amount of detail that allowed me to visualize the characters roaming through the forest, experience the battles among the different people, and feel the destruction that the erupting volcano unleashed.
If you are looking for an uplifting apocalyptic story, this would be a good one to start.
